State of the Nelson Tasman Youth Sector
The Nelson Tasman Youth Workers Collective has commissioned a report on the state of our youth sector. It describes what's happening across the youth development sector in Nelson–Tasman, and points to some practical ways to support youth-focused organisations.
This report reflects the voices of people working in the sector, rather than the voices of young people themselves. Seven ideas across four themes have been identified and the feedback you have provided is currently under review.
Over the past few months, youth sector organisations from across Nelson Tasman have shared their insights, challenges and ideas for strengthening support for rangatahi. Thank you to everyone who has contributed.
Your feedback has helped shape a Draft Action Plan built around six strategic initiatives to create a more connected, capable and sustainable youth sector.
Before the plan is finalised, we want to hear from you.
Your feedback will help confirm the priorities, identify any gaps, and ensure the final plan reflects the needs and aspirations of the organisations working alongside young people every day.
Complete the Online Survey and you'll go in the draw to win a $150 Prezzy Card. Submissions close 21 August 2026.
Connected, curious, cautious: Children’s engagement in the digital world
Children today are growing up online – learning, playing and connecting every day. This report offers a snapshot of how children aged 10 to 17 in Australia are navigating it. Drawing on insights from the ‘Keeping Kids Safe Online’ survey, the report explores: children’s online participation, the impact of online participation on children, behaviours that may increase exposure to online harm and strategies and sources of knowledge for keeping safe online.
